On Friday, November the 13th, the whole school had athletics.
First we went to sit on the dots to get told what to do, this was pointed to us (the school) and to Mr Dale (our principal) because this was his first athletics at this school. After Mr Dale said his speech, 3 of the maori kids did a karakia (prayer), after the karakia Miss Ashley sent off Benghazi and Tripoli then Alamein and Tobruk. We all sat down at our gazebos and went on to do our activities.
The first activity we had to do was Shot put who was hosted by Mr Tafea. Shot put is a sports game where you throw a heavy metal shot put ball as far as you can. When we went most of us didn't even have a turn, it was still fun to watch tho, seeing them getting mad just because they didn't go far enough. The bell rang which means we had to rotate to our next activity, which was standing jump. Standing jump was hosted by Miss Grady, Standing jump is a sport where you stand in a line and jump as far as you can. The next sport we had was discus which was hosted by Mrs.Tafea, In discus we had to throw the discus as far as we could, This sport is kind of similar to shot put. Then when the bell rang it was time to go to our next location which was long jump. Long jump is where you run as fast as you can and then jump far. The last activity we had to do was high jump, High jump is where you run and jump over a pole then land on a blue cuission.
