Reflection

Kia orana, talofa lava and greeting to all you readers.

Today my class have been reflecting this term!
As an Rm 8 Student, I have been learning so much
throughout this term. In my class I have been
blogging and sometimes taking a lot to my friends
witch distracts them from doing their  work.

In Room 8
I had lots of great experiences by blogging every
piece of work on some days. I have now realized that
blogging can be really fun if you just be creative in
some way.

Maori language week

Firstly: Last week on Friday the 13th of
September 2019 Tamaki Primary School was
celebrating Maori language week on a bright,
hot, sunny day.

Secondly: When the assembly started the
kapa haka group did a special dance to
welcome the guest to our school. After the
kapa haka group did their amazing dance we
sang the national anthem.

Thirdly: When we sang the national anthem
it was Room 1,2,3 and Room 4 turn to do
their item. While they were doing their item
I was shocked because they danced to five
songs witch was pretty AWESOME!

In Addition: But then I was nervous,
scared and their was even butterflies
in my stomach because it was my classes
turn. When we finished the dance I was
relived and glad that it was over because
I can sometimes be shy when I am not with
my friend and family.

PWC-Banqer

Talofa lava, Kia Orana and malo lele today i will be
explaining what baqer is about.

Banqer is a app where you learn how
to make good spending choices and it also helps
kids spend their money on things they
really need NOT things that aren't
Important.

With Banqer you are able to see how
much money you have in your savings
and how much you have.

On Banqer your teachers can write things that you
have to take responsibility of like if you
use Electricity or use a pencil you have to go on
banqer and pay the things you used. (an example)

The best part of banqer is that you get to do charitable giving with means you can donate money to people who need it there are three places you can donate the money to witch are Can Teens, Heart kids and Kids can. (Another Example)

making panikeke

Making Keke
Last week On a bright, steaming hot day Room 8 successfully made
some yummy small round panikeke with sugar, flour,
yeast, warm water, baking powder and milk powder. First went down
to the hall to make panikeke. First we grabbed a small cup
and poured two cups of warm water and two cups of milk. Then we
added one cup of brown sugar and three teaspoons of yeast.
After that Mrs. Tafea stirred it all together and left it there until the
yeast was ready. Next we got a big bowl and measured 12
cups of flour and then we added 12 teaspoons of baking powder.  Then
we mixed the wet and dry ingredients together Then we
covered the bowl with a white cloth and left it there until the mixture
started rising. Finally we got to cook the panikeke and
janine put one big pot on the steaming hot oven and poured one bottle
of canola oil on it. When it the oil started bubbling
Mrs. Tafea
took a handful of the mixture and put it onto the hot steaming oil so
it can cook. She repeated the same thing until all the dough
was gone. At last we got to enjoy the round brown sweet panikeke.
It was hot,moist and delicious.
