Making panikeke
Making Keke Last week On a bright, steaming hot day Room 8 successfully made some yummy small round panikeke with sugar, flour, yeast, warm water, baking powder and milk powder. First went down to the hall to make panikeke. First we grabbed a small cup and poured two cups of warm water and two cups of milk. Then we added one cup of brown sugar and three teaspoons of yeast. After that Mrs. Tafea stirred it all together and left it there until the yeast was ready. Next we got a big bowl and measured 12 cups of flour and then we added 12 teaspoons of baking powder. Then we mixed the wet and dry ingredients together Then we covered the bowl with a white cloth and left it there until the mixture started rising. Finally we got to cook the panikeke and janine put one big pot on the steaming hot oven and poured one bottle of canola oil on it. When it the oil started bubbling Mrs. Tafea took a handful of the mixture and put it onto the hot steaming oil so it can cook. She repeated the same thing until all the dough was gone. At last we got to enjoy the round brown sweet panikeke. It was hot, moist and delicious.
